ABOUT THE SERIES

Director Yael Lavi, Arik Lavi’s daughter, embarks on a journey, following her father’s tempestuous life. Starting with his childhood, which he had refused to talk about, his stormy relationships with her mother Shoshik Shani and with other women, in an attempt to understand the driving force behind the Locomotive, whom despite the love so many had felt for him, he was always looking for more.

Arik Lavi had never met his father. He was born to a single mother, and when he was eight years old, she had put him on a train to Germany and sent him to distant relatives, who brought him to Israel and rushed him to a kibbutz. From there on, the abandoned boy had tumbled from place to place, until he became one of the greatest singers in Israel. Together with her mother and sister Noa, the three Lionesses left behind after his death travel to Germany, to meet the only relatives of the person who may have been his father. This is a film about love greater than life, and about the daily struggle with the death of a loved one.
